About Jody

Jody Bledsoe began his legal career in 1993 as an attorney and advocate for consumer debtors, serving as staff attorney for Carol A. Morrison, a former Chapter 7 trustee in the Eastern District of North Carolina. Over the next two decades, he dedicated his practice to representing consumer debtors and built a reputation for knowledgeable and compassionate advocacy.

In 2014, Jody was appointed Chapter 13 trustee for the Eastern District of North Carolina, where he oversaw cases in the New Bern, Greenville, Fayetteville, and Wilmington Divisions. As trustee, he also appeared before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In January 2025, Jody joined Biggs Law Firm, returning to private practice. He represents clients primarily in federal and state courts throughout North Carolina, focusing on business and consumer bankruptcy cases, bankruptcy litigation, consumer protection litigation, business law, and tax issues.

Jody has spoken at national and local events hosted by NACBA, NACTT, and the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute. He is a regular contributing author to the NACTT Academy’s weekly newsletter and hosts its podcast series, “Consumer Bankruptcy Diary.”
